Pancake Art
Pancake art is the entertainment that’s meant to be eaten!
How it works
Using colored pancake batter I paint your request on a hot griddle.
When the pancake is flipped, and edible painting is revealed!
Request Anything
I can make anything, as long as a request is appropriate for the event.
Complicated requests are likely to be simplified to manage wait times.
Make a Show of it
Make it easy for everyone to see what is happening on the griddle by displaying it on large screen.
If a client/venue provides a TV/Monitor/Projector with an HDMI input, I can bring my camera equipment for no extra fee. This is highly encouraged for events with large crowds.
Pancake Art Workshops
At workshops, students are guided by a professional pancake artist, and extra equipment is provided so that they can make their own pancake art. Great option for individuals or small groups that like to be involved!
Virtual workshops are available for larger groups or clients that live far.
Equipment
I bring all the equipment necessary to make pancakes at your event.
Including, but not limited to, an electric griddle, spatula, pancake batter, and camera with HDMI cord if requested.
I do NOT provide plates, napkins, utensils, or toppings. Hosts are recommended to get 8” plates or larger for pancakes.
Ingredients
The pancakes are completely edible and delicious!
Simply pancake batter, with edible food coloring gel, and a bit of sweetener. More information about ingredients can be provided on request.
Dietary Restrictions
If enough notice is given, special batter can be prepared and/or new equipment can be purchased specifically to meet your dietary needs.
Entertainment - NOT CATERING
While the end result is edible, and arguably delicious, the purpose of this service is to entertain. Please make other arrangements if you are planning on feeding your guests.
Event Set-Up Requirements
The host/venue needs to provide a 6-8ft table on a flat level surface, an electrical outlet, shelter from any sun/weather and lighting if necessary, and access to water. If the camera set-up is requested, the client/venue also needs to provide a tv/projector/monitor with an HDMI port.
Menus
Jenny typically works without a menu, allowing people to pull ideas from their imagination, or show her a photo on their phone.
Custom menus are a great service add-on for planners who want to stick to a certain theme and/or want to accommodate larger crowds.
Pricing
Pancake Art Services are available for an hourly rate. Pricing varies depending on the date, location, and supplies required for your event. Travel fees apply to events more than 10 miles from Anaheim, CA. Any parking/entrance fees will be the responsibility of the client.
Deposit
A $100 deposit is required to reserve the time slot for your entertainment. This deposit will not be refundable unless the event is canceled on Artertainer’s end or canceled by an act of God.
Commissions
Preserved Pancakes and Pancake Videos/Photos are available!
Commissioned pancakes can be more complicated and detailed than the pancakes made at live events. The videos/photos make great content, and pancakes can be preserved in resin to display.
Artists
Jenny Harrison is the owner and artist of Artertainer.
When she is unavailable or needs additional artists for Pancake Art,
she hires/refers her colleagues from Dancakes. Styles/Menus/Equipment/Products vary by artist.

FAQ
How many pancakes can you make in an hour?
I never guarantee any number. The griddle is set on a lower heat to allow me time to draw, so the pancakes usually take between 5-10 mins to completely cook. I work on at least two at a time to serve as many people as possible. While we wait for pancakes to be ready to flip, I am drawing the next request(s). The total number completed in an hour varies greatly, depending on how complicated the requests are and how organized the crowd is.
How did you become a pancake artist?
Short answer, by accident. When I first saw pancake art in 2015, I was amazed and thought it was too complicated of an art form for me. In 2017, I was convinced by a client to try it, and posted my pancakes on instagram. I was quickly discovered and reached out to by Dancakes. In 2018, they convinced me to join their team of professional pancake artists, and I started travelling all over the U.S. and internationally to perform with them.
Can I get a griddle like yours?
Absolutely. The Dancakes griddle was specifically designed for pancake art and is sold in a kit that also includes bottles, a spatula, and a pancake art guide. It is available on the Dancakes website. Use my code “jennycakes” for 5% off!
Can I save my pancake?
At live events I encourage people to take a photo/video because it lasts forever. Even though they look like artwork, they are made of normal pancakes, and spoil over time. If you want a pancake you can keep, try commissioning a Preserved Pancake!
